This guide aims to create an initial list of around 25 relevant programs. Later on, we will narrow down this list to choose 8-12 final universities

Step 1: Visit the DAAD Website

Head over to the official DAAD website (www.daad.de) and navigate to the "Study & Research in Germany" section. It can also be directly accessed from here https://www2.daad.de/deutschland/studienangebote/international-programmes/en/

Step 2: Choose your course type, language and field of study

Note: Type the field of study in search vs choosing it in the 'Field of Study' dropbox. This is because the programs might be classified differently than what we know. For e.g, Computer science programs can be found in Mathematics and Natural sciences.

Step 3: Select 'Fully On-site' as your preferred way of studying.

Step 4: Mark Tuition fees as 'no fees'. Generally, most public programs in Germany are free, so there shouldn't be a dearth of options. Incase, you find very few free programs for your field, you can expand the 'fees' filter.

Step 5: Choose your desired semester, you should know this from our algorithm in the previous step.

Now you should see an exhaustive list of programs:

Note that many of the programs would not be relevant to what you are looking for. Filter preliminary list of 25 programs in the following order of importance:

• Field of study: For e.g, If you are interested in AI and ML, that should be your first preference in search.
• Hard Filters: Go to the requirements section and filter out programs for which you do not qualify in terms of less ECTS credits, GPA requirements, non-EU etc.

After the previous step, you should have under 25 programs which interest you. If you still have > 25 programs to choose from:

• Based on your preferences of ranking of the university and city selection, you can filter in programs down to 25.

Compile an Excel spreadsheet containing the listed programs along with their corresponding DAAD URLs.
We will employ this spreadsheet later in the guide for subsequent updates, including information about admission difficulty levels (safe, moderate, ambitious), APS status, VPD, and any additional prerequisites.
